Asin, refused even to greet her at a recent event organized by the makers to promote the film.
Asin was sitting next to Salman Khan, as both were expected to interact with the media persons jointly, but leave interaction; Sallubhai even did not bother to acknowledge the presence of hot beauty from South, and left the venue without saying a word to her.
The entire gathering was stunned at
Salman Khan’s stoic behavior towards Asin, who seemed eager to interact with him. Salman Khan’s act was more shocking as he had a crackling chemistry with Asin during the making of ‘London Dreams’ in London, Paris and Punjab. So much so that even
Katrina Kaif had to visit the sets of the film in Punjab to prevent development of any close relationship between them.
Sources close to Salman Khan say that he was unwell on the day of the joint interview with Asin and so had requested the organizers to hold the promotional event some other day. It was all due to Salman Khan catching a bad cold the previous day, when he was in Kolkata for a promotional event. Even after returning to Mumbai, Sallubhai was not comfortable and so had decided to postpone the event.
However, despite of postponing the event Salman Khan came to the venue and continued to chat with media people. It was at this time that Asin, assuming that the joint interaction for ‘London Dreams’ will be held, sat beside Salman Khan. But Salman Khan did not even acknowledge her presence and left soon after.
There are several theories floating in the B-town in regard to Salman Khan-Asin cold war. One important theory doing the rounds in the industry is that Salman Khan’s closeness to Asin, during the London spell of the flick, had created problems with
Katrina Kaif and Salman wanted to put an end to this all by distancing himself from her. So, this theory looks at Salman’s behavior as a result of
Katrina’s fear.
Another theory doing the rounds in the industry is that Salman Khan-Asin cold war had started with the first promotional material which ignored Asin and gave Salman Khan-Ajay Devgan prominence. Asin had protested with director Vipul Shah about this, and he had promised to correct the bias in subsequent materials.
However, this was not taken in good spirit by Salman Khan and he took it as his insult from Asin. Sallubhai could not digest the fact that Asin, who had only one movie ‘Ghajini’ (with Aamir Khan) before ‘London Dreams’, was demanding parity with him in promotional matters. He started ignoring her and this public snub was part of that ego clash.
‘London Dreams’ stars Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Asin in the main lead. The movie is about two friends who want to make their mark in the field of music in London. The movie has been extensively shot in London, Paris and other exotic places.
